Oct 21, 2013 It is about the roaring 20's and an epic love story. No bad at all.

Saw before. Less confusing this time. Beautifully done.

This movie shows what happens when CGI is overused. Its flamboyant, ridiculous, overdone and silly. This movie is to the "The Great Gatsby" what a Drag Queen is to (real) women. If you want to see the movie that is true to the book, watch…

Awful, simply awful.

The Great Gatsby is a Baz Luhrmann-directed film that is based on the same-titled book by F. Scott Fitzgerald. The movie was released on May 1, 2013, and centers on Nick Carraway, a young bond salesman who relocates to New York in the…

Baz Luhrman is not a subtle dude. He is basically Oliver Stone with fashion/style instead of politics. His movies are always worth checking out just for that alone.

Same rating as original starring Redford but liked original a tad better. Only bc it seemed more in keeping with the storyline that Gatsby did not show at his own parties. Also in original, upon Calloway's invitation to attend a party, he…

This movie was so bad that I didn't even finish it. It was very poorly edited so it was both visual stunning and ugly at the same time. The film fast forwarded through the plot so one has trouble caring about the characters. It's like…

I thought that The Great Gatsby was an amazing book. The story is set in the 1920s in the jazz-age New York. The novel tells a tragic story about a self-made millionaire and his pursuit of regaining a prize that used to be his own; Daisy…

After watching the Great Gatsby movie directed by Baz Luhrmann, I had a few things I noticed right away. The characters were very animated in the film, and it was a very fast moving story. It copied a lot from the book as you would expect,…

This was totally bad like thirty minutes into the film I was done with it, it was not a very good movie. Even though the original was not a hit I still loved it so I'm going to stick with the original.

I know the story. Read enough of it. Seen enough of the Redford version. Recommend this one, even over the book. Haven't seen all the way through. Not just saying this cuz of Lana. It's true. Might even watch it all the way through. Not…

I loved the modern twist that was made in this film with the rap music. Costumes and shooting were on point.

Music is way away from time appropriate. Acting has nothing to do with the '20's. Overall, have no idea why anyone would give this a high rating. No dancing like what was depicted possibly occurred in the '20's.

Such a great movie and cast. I loved all of the theatrics that made it seem to come straight out of the roaring 20s! The ending was quite sad though.

A new film adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic, this movie is lush, visually gorgeous, and--from my memories of reading the book--very faithful in bringing the novel to life on the screen. The anachronistic music bothered me for a…

This is a great movie with a great cast! The set scenes/scenery are alluring and absolutely exquisite to look at. You wish you were there! The wardrobe, makeup and hair are impeccable and truly capture the beauty and wealth of that…

I have re-watched all Gatsby movies in order to rate them, and this is the 4th one. Overall, I still prefer the Robert Redford version, but if you want glitz and glamour, this is the one for you. This movie is just full of TOO MUCH into…

I love this story...have read it a few times, when I visualize Jay he is Robert Redford and Daisy is Mia....Carey Mulligan is a wonderful actress but she lacks a certain fragility portraying Daisy.....Leo is no Redford....I enjoyed this…

A razzle dazzle epic from Baz Lurhmann, based on Fitzgerald's classic book! Great performances from all, and what a soundtrack! Definitely check this one out Old Sport!

Good, but not as good as the original. Still a decent story though.
