If a man has talent and can't use it, he's failed. If he uses only half of it, he has partly failed. If he uses the whole of it, he has succeeded, and won a satisfaction and triumph few men ever know. Thomas Wolfe

Interesting. Well done. Extras also worthwhile. Probably not memorable.

Wow. A great true story about writer Tom Wolfe and the incredible editor Max Perkins, that took him under his wing and mentored Wolfe to super stardom. Brilliantly acted and produced. Stars Jude Law, Colin Firth and Nicole Kidman.

only one american in the cast, and she played a wife? most famous US editor, famous iconic US authors, etc., all played by brits and aussies, w NY scenes shot in liverpool & manchester? one of many extremely boring, purportedly cerebral…

a superb cast and a fine script make this a wonderful film, but the sepia-toned cinematography sets most of the film in disconcerting shadow

Little nudge for more folk to view this film. it is worth a look. Well acted, holds the interests, and, based on real life people. Only thing not right about this film for me, is the title.

Beautifully filmed and acted; compelling and touching look at the relationship between a larger than life writer, Thomas Wolf and his editor Max Perkins. Compelling throughout and a truly touching ending. LOVED IT!

A well made film about the friendship between the author Thomas Wolfe and book editor Maxwell Perkins who gave Wolf his first big break. The film shows the different relationships editors have with each writer like Fitzgerald and Hemingway…

I watched this with the idea of skipping through the boring bits. There were NO boring bits. I watched every second, and found it enthralling. While I will never find the time to read Wolfe, I am glad I got the background on him and on the…

Really enjoy seeing Colin Firth in these serious dramatic roles. If you enjoyed him in this movie watch "A Single Man".

A movie about novelist Thomas Wolfe and his Scribner's editor Maxwell Perkins. A must-see if you are a Jude Law or Colin Firth fan. I wonder if people still read LOOK HOMEWARD, ANGEL. Probably only American Lit grad students. The Beats…

A stirring drama about the complex friendship and transformative professional relationship between book editor Maxwell Perkins (who discovered F. Scott Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemingway) and Thomas Wolfe. I like movies which are about the…

I knew nothing of Thomas Wolfe until now, who was a real nut case. Why was Colin Firth always wearing a hat, even at dinner? Was dull and boring at times but I stuck it out. Was Kidman a girl friend or wife????

Took me a bit of time to realize this movie wasn't about Wolfe but his editor although the theatrical trailers of course suggested the opposite. Beautifully filmed and believable story about largely forgotten giants of literature. It is…

I enjoyed this movie, as much for the performances as for the story. Colin Firth is as remarkable for his reserve as Jude Law is for his larger-than-life Thos. Wolfe. And Guy Pearce convinces me as F. Scott Fitzgerald. The women, Kidman…

I knew very little about Thomas Wolf and nothing about Max Perkins and enjoyed this movie very much. Acting was great. The “look” of the film was very 1920=1930’s. The only thing I would have enjoyed would have been a note at the end…
