As an actual movie: 1 1/2 stars As an awesomely terrible movie: 4 1/2 stars
Can you handle "The Core"? Are you ready for "The Core"? Are you hardcore enough for "The Core"? You are not. Nobody is. A few year late to the great disaster movie party of the 90s ("Twister," "Armageddon," "Dante's Peak"), "The Core" may be the most absurd of any of these. So, like the earth's core has stopped and a ragtag team of scientists, engineers, and pilots need to travel to the center of the earth and restart it again. Seriously. But, hey, who is along for the ride: Aaron Eckhart, Hilary Swank, Alfre Woodard, Richard Jenkins, Stanley Tucci, Bruce Greenwood, Delroy Lindo, DJ Qualls. Whoa! Tucci's the only one who seems to get that overacting is the only way out of this movie. The fx look terrible; it's basically a really expensive b-movie. If you love bad movies though, then you're in for a treat.

***SPOILERS***
“The Core “movie was so amazing, fascinating. The objective seemed so impossible but, of course, in movies the impossible becomes possible. Going into the Earth seemed impossible enough, but going to the inner core and dropping bombs to restart it is just brilliant and the movie did that in such a way that it felt real.  I really liked how the whole crew met up and got together. Each of them had their own role to play with at certain times. The sad part for me is how all the crew members (except Dr. Keyes and Dr. Rebecca) died sacrificing their lives just so the rest of the crew could complete the mission. It is just so sad how one by one they are gone. Also, I think Theodore did a good job being the hacker and stopping project DESTINI to launch. Overall, this movie was fantastic and unbelievably intense and real.

Absolutely silly premise, it seems rather obvious that the writer's either spectacularly failed their basic science classes, or skipped them entirely. Outside of this the acting was fairly well done, as were the special effects, but would it kill hollywood to actually try and put some science into a supposedly science based movie?

It was O.K for a home TV movie. I was entertained and interesting. But it was NOT worth the long library wait or the price to rent from a Red Box.

This movie contains very good sounds that should be played on your HOMETHEATER. This is one of those films that great for watching with friends and eating popcorn. There are several scenes of destruction and technology that makes this movie shine for it sound and visuals. There's also a good cast and decent story to entertain you and your company. I'll be honest. I did enjoy this movie for what it is. I give this film 4 stars. Good visuals, good destructive scenes for audio, good cast, and decent story. Franks on a bun with mustard, relish, and coke. Popcorn's extra.

Impressive cast, but far fetched. There needed to be more displays of what was happening outside where all the action is.
