Certainly not one of Bowie's best.

Rock

Never heard most of this album.
I really liked it. These album cuts much better than their radio or compilation edits.
All except for "Joe the Lion", which i found grating

Ahh, I could speak volumes about Bowie's genius and ingenuity, but I'll try to condense my opinion into a more manageable format. This is Bowie's 12th studio album and the title track is easily one of his best. Paired with Brian Eno, the two are unstoppable. If you're a reluctant listener or unsure where to start with the Bowie repertoire, this is a good entry point. Just be prepared to fall in love. (I warned you.)

Even if this album was composed of just the title song and tracks of Bowie talking to himself, this would be one of his best albums. But the entire album is excellent. Aside from the titanic title track (a song I never get tired of hearing and which inspired LCD Soundsytem's great "All I Want"), there is a mix of more avant-garde instrumental tracks and art-rock songs like "Joe the Lion" and "Sons of the Silent Age." It is part of the so-called "Berlin Trilogy," along with "Low" and "Lodger." Contrary to popular belief, Brian Eno did not produce these albums (longtime Bowie collaborator Tony Visconti did) but did play on them, as did prog-rock guitarist Robert Fripp. Over 30 years later, this still sounds like the future.
