Originally from Atlanta, Georgia - Gladys Knight and the Pips were an African/American, family-based musical act (where the 3 "Pips" consisted of being Gladys' brother, Merald, and 2 cousins, Edward & Langston).

Though there were some personnel changes over the years (regarding who was a "Pip"), the popularity of this particular singing quartet endured for 25 years.

This "Ultimate" collection covers the years between 1966-1974 when Gladys & Co. were mainly under contract with Motown Records.

If you enjoy listening to early American pop (with plenty of soul and R&B thrown in for good measure), then this CD of 22 tracks is sure to please.

3 of my favourite tunes in this compilation are - I Heard It Through The Grapevine, Friendship Train, and Neither One Of Us.... (*Watch music-video*)
