This is a book for propaganda of Chinese Communist Party. If you want to know the truth, please read Pantsov's book "Mao: the real story". After Mao's "Greatest Leap Forward", more than 30 million chinese died of hunger and it is this Edgar Snow who said to the world:"I must assert that I saw no starving people in China, nothing that looked like old-time famine....I do not believe there is famine in China."(Edgar Snow, "The Other Side of the River: Red China Today", New York: Rondom House, 1962, p619)
