My mother loved it, and I loved it, though for slightly different reasons. Though few folk recommend discussing politics at a family gathering, this film may help break the ice on a topic worthy of consideration. The film celebrates silliness and human kindness, while also taking a, though white and privileged, relatively realistic look at how criminality comes from the few options available to those who are utterly desperate. This adorable British comedy bridges gaps between generations, classes, and nations, providing an opportunity for teens, adults, and elders to laugh together.

★ Clever! Hilarious! Entertaining! Well acted, British movie!

A lot of the film is based around the Growing of LARGE QUANTITIES of Cannabis, to sell.
There is some smoking of both tobacco and Cannabis, in the film.

Some parts of the film are in a pub, where people are DRINKING.
People also drink casually, in other parts of the film.

Rated 7/10. Brenda Blethyn was definitely the star of this show and made it work into a pretty good comedy. Craig Ferguson couldn't have carried it off by himself.

Fun, clever, well acted, great story...and, best of all, it's British! Loved this movie!

If you like British humor, you'll like this film; otherwise, you won't. I loved Craig Ferguson and Brenda Blethyn in roles so different from where I've seen them the most (late night TV, or the BBC series "Vera"). It was lovely to have a good laugh at the British-style silliness.

There wasn't enough here to hold my attention. The plot could have been hilarious but the film eased into the pot business so quickly that all the acting afterward became too predictable.

I didn't even bother finishing it.

What a gem of a flick! I have been a fan of Craig's for many years. I had no idea he had co-written and starred in this movie. I am so glad that I discovered it. This is a very light film with some major chuckle moments. After the tea in the store is HILARIOUS!!! How fun to see the younger Craig again and to see a younger "Doc Martin" also.

Vicar: "God grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change... Courage to change the things I can... and the Wisdom to know the difference." Nicky: "The Wisdom's the hard part."

I want to grow some vegetables, smoke some weed, sing carols at Christmas time and who knows? One day I'd like to be a dad and raise a couple of f**king children. But that's it! I've had it! I've f**ing had enough. I'm going! No more Mr. Cuddly Toy! I'm not hanging around here to be a whipping boy for ganja Grace and captain Nicky the f**kin' lobster queen!"
