GOOD old (1948) summertime movie (although much of it takes place in wintertime Chicago). Judy Garland does a great job at age 26 acting and singing several quality tunes. And I noticed for the first time while she was writing a letter she is left-handed.
I also enjoyed seeing Marcia Van Dyke for the first time (that I can remember), another beautiful brunette, especially during her violin playing scenes.
Overall, the film WAS a little bit slow, but still a fun watch with it's high quality singing, dancing, comedy, etc. - glad I did!

This film moves a little slowly and is a bit too long, but, overall, it is cute, romantic, and entertaining.

This is a musical version of "The Shop Around the Corner" featuring Judy Garland and Van Johnson. The movie is set around the turn of the 20th century, and the main characters work in a music store. There is a subplot involving a Stradivarius violin. Not as good as the original, but still a pleasant film.
