and she was has a masterful build to a release. I really like songs that do that.
The sixth and penultimate album by the Talking Heads. After their trilogy of groundbreaking Brian Eno-produced albums, the band went in a more pop direction, which isn't to say they became any less interesting. "Little Creatures" feels like a companion piece to "Speaking in Tongues," ditching some of the experimentation of earlier albums for a brighter, looser, and funkier sound. "And She Was," "Stay Up Late," and "Road to Nowhere" remain some of their most endearing songs. Only "Television Man" really falls flat. Cover by Southern outside artist Howard Finster, whose art was also featured on an R.E.M. album.
