Good film noir. Suspenseful and creepy. Well written. Great black & white lighting. Valentina Cortesa is excellent and Richard Basehart does a nice job, as the leads.

A thriller with a great script!! It is an unusual story about a woman who takes on another woman's identity. I won't tell you more than that but it is a real thriller. Richard Basehart, although not well known, does a great job as the owner of the house of Telegraph Hill. Valentina Cortese is great as the woman who comes to America with another woman's identification papers. You won't want to miss this film. This is one of Robert Wise's best pictures!
