I often cut & paste the title & author of a book into the search box at Amazon.com, if I want opinions from readers. They've actually bought the book, so their opinions are appreciated. Amazon.com is an excellent place to find out more about a book from readers! Some reviews from Amazon.com on this book............... “ Very Positive, Helpful Book and a Great find!! I purchased this book to help my 4yr old son during our family's divorce. I particularly liked that it is not skewed from either parent's point of view like some other books that I read....It focuses on how the child is not to blame for the changes going on &that both parents still love (& will always) love them.
................................. “ I'm all for the power of positive thinking. It's nourishing - especially during complicated family times. Children don't have to be the victims of divorce..... Standing On My Own Two Feet teaches simple lessons: that the divorce is not their fault, parents love you unconditionally, and emotional strength can be developed through positive thoughts.... Kids perceive divorce completely differently than the adults in their lives. Sometimes on the outside they may look like they are going strong, but often on the inside they are muddling through. Make sure you provide access to bibliotherapy ( reading books on a topic for therapy) as part of their healing process. As a school counselor, I use this one quite a bit." ......................................
Perfect. Better than the rest, May 16, 2011 Trust me! I bought all the divorce/separation books, and this is by far the best and most applicable. The book doesn't over do it and also promotes the child’s confidence and encourages the positive to replace any external negatives. My son loves this book and it has helped me reduce guilt because I'm being honest with him in an age appropriate manner. The second best one I found was called “ Two Homes “. ...............Ann Hoy

A bright, happy, positive message in a book about divorce? That's pretty neat.
