Not for the beginner; best appreciated by the intermediate, or even advanced photographer. A lot of creative and technical information, as well as some useful (if somewhat basic) post-processing techniques. Inspiring photos, useful critiques, and decent number of assignments to kick start you creatively. All around a great book that I thoroughly enjoyed and will likely read through again sometime.

Vast amount of instruction in this book - both for taking pictures and for post-processing. If you are at all serious, this book should be a standard reference on your bookshelf, i.e. buy it. Interesting assignments on each chapter to practice what you've learned.

Very detailed discussion about everything involved in taking photos. May need to read more than once. This copy has been heavily used.
