This is the beginning of Mercy Thompson series. The book is very intriguing and the images are very applying. It's a master piece that continues on the covers of the entire of series and a mystery that keeps you craving for more. Mercy Thompson is the friend that you want to have and the confident that you want to follow.
This is a graphic novel based on the series by Patricia Briggs. The actual story was very disjointed. I guess I'm used to "reading' rather than looking at a story. Just not enough meat in the story to interest me. I was surprised that on the first page, they have Mercy running around naked and looking like an Amazon woman with these huge muscles - nothing at all like I think of her. Don't think I'll read the other graphic novels in this series.
Mercy is a great character. She is strong, self-reliant and a skilled auto mechanic. She is protective towards children and she won't let bullies boss her around. Mercy tangles with a rogue pack of werewolves who have moved into the Tri-Cities area of Washington State. Vampires and various fae are also part of the scene. I look forward to reading more.
Not a prude, but I can visualize naked, I don't need pictures...but to each their own. Didn't realize graphic novel when I borrowed. Just wanted another good Briggs' story.
I love Mercy. It's one of my favorite series and having the graphic novel just makes me deliriously happy. Is it my favorite Mercy installment? No. But I still enjoyed. It was fun going back to the beginning and seeing Z in his state and Mercy meeting Stefan and Adam. It was just all so much fun.
The graphics were well done. Not 100% how I view Mercy or Adam in my mind but they in no way looked foreign. If you haven't jumped into the series I recommend starting with the books and then jumping into the graphic novel. There's something about knowing the characters that makes learning about some of the previous events much better.

A bit flat, but not too bad. I agree that it's somewhat disjointed.
This is a Graphic Novel. Sort of like a comic book. NOT a good representation of the Mercy Thompson story.

I liked it as a graphic novel. It translates into something a bit lighter then the full novels, but still a fun read.

I really liked this prequel, and I like that it is an original story, not just a retelling of a previous work.
