This wasn't as good a season as some of the others, but New Tricks is still loaded with more good scripts, charm, warmth and humour than most shows. Well worth your time.

Season six and still going strong - I still love this show. Especially loved "Death of a Timeshare Salesman" - interesting twists and turns and loved Naomi Bentley's performance. I'm not religious, but gotta say I agreed with Gerry's assessment of the "God's Army" band. Thoroughly enjoyed Bentley's singing. And even though he only had a couple of lines and probably less than a minute on-screen, I really enjoyed the actor who played the guy who tries to get Sandra and Gerry to join their "army of believers."

It was taking too long for Americans (the world’s piñata) to be bashed by the Brits—of all people!—but, well, they finally did it: “The Truth is Out There” is an indictment of the US military. In this episode Brian (Alum Armstrong) explains that the Drake equation “proves” the existence of life in other planets; but while Drake’s equation opens the possibility of it, it doesn’t prove it. Episode “The War Against Drugs,” Brian’s intolerance is exposed once more: he calls the rehab clinic to which his wife takes him a “ruddy monastery” while in other episodes he seems very respectful of wiccans, hippies and ufologists. And I just loved IMDB description of comedian Ray Harris (John Henshaw) from episode “The Last Laugh” as a “Right Wing comedian”? (Rolling eyes!) Jack (James Bolam) continues his morbidly boring chats with dead wife’s ashes, but the scenes have been greatly reduced, thank goodness. And “Meat is Murder” is, so far, the best episode of the entire series. All in all, if you don’t have anything else to watch and can stand the PC, it’s not a bad series. Cheers!

Used to love this show. First few seasons were great!! This season was disappointing. Slow moving. They seem tired of the show.
