tried watching the BR version, but heavy use had disk one too worn to play for me, bailed. guess i'll stick with DVDs instead.

separate reply to dogmocha's question in october 2013:

< I have a question does anyone know if they have the original doctor, the first, the one WHO started it all in 1963-1966 played by William hartnell >

there was a storage problem saving bulky video tapes back in the day, and iirc early doctor who seasons were recorded over, or tossed in the trash. only 2nd hand dribs and drabs turned up later.

the fine john cleese autobiography "so, anyway.." laments the loss of some of his early bbc work for the same reason.

.... very late ps:
the library offers a half dozen first doctor William Hartnell dvd works, ignoring cameos. a browser cut and paste of this link might help:

I enjoy most of BBC's stuff but find the stories in this set too complex. The never-ending time travel, back and forth, further complicates things for me. So I have to be in the minority and admit I wound up giving up on it.

A great season of Doctor Who, revealing a lot of mysteries from past seasons, but still, Matt Smith can't stand up to David Tennant in my opinion.

As a Dr. Who fan I was so surprised at how much I enjoyed this doctor and his companions. So much goes on in this series that there is no way to sumarize it all! A great watch and would recommend this to any Dr. Who fan!!!

asdfghjlk; like i can't this perfection
it's great having the anticipation of watching it on your tv, waiting for the next episode to come out (CANT BELEIVE SOME HIATUSES ARE OCCASIONALLY OVER 6 MONTHS LONG) but it's fantastic having a marathon
i love this tv series so much, it's brilliant.

Amy Pond, Rory Williams and of course...the Doctor :) Matt Smith is a wonderful 11th Doctor

complex and mind bending stories. however i still prefer David Tennant in the role (seasons 2-4). he is definitely more believable. Matt Smith tries very hard but he still playacts the role. i am looking forward to the doctor's next transformation, not anytime soon unfortunately.

Really loved this season of Who, you really see the companions characters grow and reveal more of themselves in this season. Best episodes would be The Doctor's Wife and The Girl Who Waited. Hopefully series 7 will have a reappearance of the Daleks.
