A thrilling and tense novel. An FBI agent heading up a team investigating a series of assassinations and attacks against Muslim targets must deal with his own grief over the past and his prejudices that spring out of that. The man behind the attacks is a malevolent villain whose reasons are nonetheless understandable, and his organization is carrying out an apocalyptic plan. Stebbins moves the plot forward well, investing most of his energy in characterization to his protagonist. His descriptive abilities surrounding the attacks and the growing tensions across the world are vivid, and his ability to write an action sequence is excellent. Highly recommended.
