Add a CommentNoir, in a very French way. I loved the story and the writing (well, at least the translation) is amazing -- very fluid. Great stuff!
This is a strange novel:maybe trashy, yet tells of the darkness in the human experience
Incest, nicotine addiction, erratic behavior, childhood abuse of brother and sister which warps their lives and destroys their moral compass.
I initially disliked the writing and style. The more I read the more I understood the author, what he was writing; how a life can be destroyed and descend into hell on earth.
