He meets Mackenzie, also homeless, and with her help, he tries to survive on the street and get his life back together. But finding a safe place for them to crash at night is difficult, and panhandling for money is harder than it looks. And after Mackenzie gets into some real trouble, Cameron realizes he needs to come up with a better solution than just getting by.

i am a 12 year old girl who is interested in homelessness and peoples experiences of homelessness. I think this book is very powerful for pretty much anyone but i do recommend it for teens because it is a quick easy read. Maybe thats why i wanted to read it because it was not too hard but it still kept me interested. The two main characters had a lot of challenges, some of them being that they were only 16 and that one of them did not go to school. She was very mysterious, getting lots of money while the guy went to school. But then when he was done with school he panhandled with his dog. The book is about all the ups and downs they go through.

I recommend this book to anyone to read it because it was very heartbreaking story and you will learn a lesson from this book not to take stupid actions toward your parents and your own life just because what you believe is true and can be better than the life you have been living with your parents. Also it can teach you how whatever action you take in your life can impact you in different ways.

About how quickly a teen's life can change when the parents split up and forget to provide for their teen . Sad book but the reality of a lot of young people of today. Could have had a better , concluding ending than it did .
