Florence, 1965. A man is found dead in his home, a pair of scissors stuck in his throat. Only one thing is known about him - he was a loan shark who ruined and blackmailed the vulnerable men and women who would come to him for help. Inspector Bordelli prepares to launch a murder investigation but the case will be a tough one for him, arousing mixed emotions: the desire for justice competing with a deep hostility for the victim.

These mysteries are set in post-war Italy during the 60's. Bordelli is a cop with a conscious; he doesn't really want to find the murderer; who cares if a loan shark is dead, right?!? But Bordelli will not allow himself to go down that rabbit hole. Great Series!

Story takes place in 1965. A surprise, excellent read. Both author and translator are great. Author follows our humanistic hero, his friends and multiple plots. All ends well and satisfactorily.

this book is desperately in need of editing, perhaps the author was paid by the word for this offering.
