I don't normally give anything 5 stars but this is truly an amazing and beautifully done film. I think everyone should see it. I feels like a very important movie and I can't believe I had never heard of it.

I loved hearing stories of girls from around the world overcoming adversity in their own communities, in their own ways. The use of different visual formats for each girl's story helped maintain my attention during this long documentary, but was clearly done to identify each girl as an individual. Girl Rising was the inspiration for Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library's annual celebration of Day of the Girl every October.

Interesting but could have been better. Some of the stories were totally circumstantial and had nothing to do with the child being female or male. Definitely worth the watch.

Innovative format for a documentary - successfully presents the material in a way that may be accessible to a wider audience. Compelling stories.

A simple approach to showing the impact a lack of education for girls has on the whole world and individual communities as well as on the lives of individual girls

The girls chosen to convey their stories evoked powerful emotions. These varied stories illustrated the common need around the world for girls to be educated.

Some of the techniques used to convey facts and figures were simple but still they effectively let us know facts that sadly are seldom presented.

I found the movie powerful, evocative and compelling.

Girls are really essential to the world's economy and their education should be a priority in all countries!
