God, Immonen is good. He deserves to be on a better book. This...isn't bad. It's just sort of all over the place -- the time travel stuff is a bit of a mess, like confusing for the sake of being confusing? Doesn't feel like there are any real stakes. But enjoyable enough to read, I guess?

Unfortunately the best friend of the head honchos at Marvel isn't going anywhere, so he gets to continue to mangle continuity for no reason as the original X-Men remain stuck in the present day for no reason but that Bendis says so. Bendis doesn't care less about continuity, and that's painfully obvious throughout. He also has no idea how to write anyone with their own voices, as everyone sounds alike. They all sound just like him.

Another example of Bendis playing in a sandbox which suits him. He starts off better with this franchise than he did with the Avengers book, IMO. Worth buying. And Immonen's art shows him as one of mainstream comic's best storytellers.
