One by one, defendants are led into court to face their fate. Willy and Frankie, Helen and Liam, family man Kenny and seventeen-year-old Stephen are ordinary people, or so it seems. Are they innocent or guilty? Will the jury make the right decision? From the writer of Cracker and The Street, winner of two international Emmys, the British anthology series pulls viewers in as the tension builds.

Each episode focuses on the unraveling of an ordinary person who gets pushed too far, and how the jury reacts with the verdict, sometimes unjustly, sometimes ironically. Such raw emotional honesty can be hard to watch. Excellent ensemble acting, different cast each time.

If you enjoy watching a train-wreck of constant bad decisions being made, then this series is for you. As for me, I didn't make it past the first 45 minutes.

Excellent series released in 2010 with real life situations not overplayed or mindless killing like US TV productions. The Brit court system is very different & often hard to figure out. The performance of Sean Bean in the last disk was brilliant - I had no idea he could perform so well & not his usual tough guy role. The series made me so aware of how close one may be to breaking the law or being in such a situation. More like this please.

Enjoyed the first episode, the second was way too dark and distressing. When I saw how the third one was going, I decided that was enough. Yes, they're very well done, but too much misery, quite depressing really.
