This has production values and passable acting, but trite scripts. Really only worth watching for sighting actors as guest stars who went on to better things. For a show about forensics there isn't much information about the post-mortems or the evidence they found there, though I think this element did increase as the series went on. Having just seen Series 17 the other day, I can tell you that although the production values continued to improve, the scripts are still every bit as lacking. Difference is the guest actors, once on the up, are in the present day series, more likely to be suffering from a career in the doldrums.

I think this show might have spawned the American CSI, which is in my opinion, a crime in itself...

Suspenseful and well-written British crime series with the main focus on the medical examiner's perspective. Amanda Burton excellent in her role. Other cast of characters very good.

I liked this but find Sam's actions as a forensic pathologist very dated.
Also annoyed that the subtitles did not work especially when often the speaker had their back to camera. ( I can lipread, sometimes !).

I liked this series when it first came out & find it very dated now, which doesn't hold up. Nigel McCrery has the creds for this type of writing - it still falls short. Irritating that the subtitles won't work.

Don't understand how this series has gone on so long. Run of the mill British soap-opera. Bad acting, and poor storylines. Although made in the 90's, looks like it could have been shot in the 60's or 70's. Maybe die-hard British soap fans will enjoy this.... not my cup of tea

I love this series and it's been going since 1996! So happy that SPL ordered it, but noticed that the other 18 years haven't been.
It's going to be great to re-watch it from the beginning. :-)
