I love love love this movie despite the fact that it is dated. Goldie Hawn and Chevy Chase are good, but it is all the small bit characters that make this movie.

Romantic comedy thriller that doesn't succeed at any of these. Goldie Hawn is the innocent drawn into a plot to kill the pope. The Hitchcock references are pretty obvious, even down to an attempted murder at the opera ("The Man Who Knew Too Much"). Chevy Chase, playing Chevy Chase (It's the role he was born to play.), is a cop protecting her. The capable, but underused, supporting cast includes Burgess Meredith, Brian Dennehy, and Dudley Moore, in his first American role. Director Colin HIggins wrote "Harold & Maude," but there is none of that film's dark wit.

This movie is goofy with moments of hilarity. Burgess Meredith is a wonderful black belt and the Japanese couple in the taxi are worth the price of admission.
