The second full-length from ex-Odd Future rapper Earl Sweatshirt. As the Odd Future smoke has cleared, we can see them as brilliant social manipulators, which is perhaps their most notable feature. Earl Sweatshirt has emerged as the real talent with a weary voice that belies his years. "I Don't Like S***" is that rarity in hip-hop: a short album. It's 10 songs in 30 minutes, making it almost punk. The music is dark and decaying, recalling some of RZA's production, and Earl clearly cares little for radio play or current trends, even if he's on a big label. As an older listener whose interest in hip-hop peaked in the late 90s/early 00s, I'm not the audience for this, but I can appreciate it. Vince Staples guests.

A dark and introspective near masterpiece.
