This was decent, but just not for me. There wasn't enough backstory here to get me invested, and I found myself not really caring what happened to the characters. I am very rarely interested in robots, but thought I'd give this a shot because it was recommended by someone who also liked Saga. The art was definitely beautiful- it gave me a watercolor and charcoal vibe. This was good, but I won't be continuing.

Jeff Lemire hits another home run on this one. The sci-fi world feels rich with possibility as does the story. Throw in the fantastic watercolor style art and this is a fantastic package.

The cover artwork is what lead me to pick up Descender, yet it's the stunning art by Dustin Nguyen made me fall HARD for this graphic novel. The story line is striking as well! Jeff Lemire pens a so-to-be Sci-Fi classic with Descender that harken backs to Herbert's Dune and the iconic imagery of Ridley Scott's Blade Runner, Aliens, as well as, George Miller's Mad Max films. There were moments when I felt the ragtag squad, Guardians of the Galaxy, would have been very much at home in this Universe! I am very much looking forward to the next installment of Descender, so until then.

Haunting and lingering, this book really got its robotic hooks into me. Really looking forward to the next instalment!
