Too cute and twee for me but I can see the appeal.

I very much like the characters of the book and the setting and the creative bit of magic involving books that "choose" the main character. However, the main character is a bit too immature and "obvious" in her way of not dealing with the police at times. The author has a great start....just this bit needs tweaking in my opinion.
