tuscany1 said it better than I could -- the boy's confessions were hilarious. Unfortunately, the boy seemed to have already picked up some of the father's "charming" personality, warts and all.

This was quite good! Laughed several times throughout the film, and there were some spots where even I had to use a Kleenex. Worth seeing!

We enjoyed this little "sleeper". The kid is great! Gets a tad slow/repetitive in the middle but well worth sticking those few minutes out to watch the whole thing.

Small town American story unfolds over a 24 hour period. Slow start but really worth carrying on as the message is one of HOPE and FAMILY. Totally believable and ruefully funny in parts - the boy and the priest in confession a very good example.

Very simple but very well acted and written movie about a father and his son, and how they reconnected over a week-end. And very pleasantly surprised the movie is supposedly set in Kent WA! Am not sure if it was actually filmed here though, but they referenced alot of the local places or streets like Meeker and Renton.

This was a simple film about the reunion of an estranged father and his son getting to know each other a little better over the span of a few days. If you are looking for a feel good movie, try this one. This is the kind of film that proves not every film must be a masterpiece.

Thoughtful with some humor confirming a son's relationship with his earthly father and possibly relating that to his upcoming confirmation of his faith - some liberties to be taken there within.

Father and son have an adventure and end up a family - Maria Bello is great as the mother/ex-wife

This story about a divorced man's weekend relationship with his son is wholesome, funny, and well-acted.

Bless me, for I have sinned.
-"Father."
Huh?
-"Bless me, Father." for I have sinned.
I think it's been eight weeks since my last confession. These are my sins.
-Yes? What are your sins?
I can't think of any.
-Are you trying to tell me that you haven't even dishonored your mom or your dad in the last two months?
I don't see my dad enough to dishonor him.
-Well, must've lied to them?
No.
- Must've lied to somebody?
No.
-You're lying to me now.
No, I'm not.
-A boy can't go that long without a falsehood.
Maybe once. This girl in school, she asked me if I liked her cookies, and I said yes. Was that wrong?
-How about impure thoughts? You must have had some of those.
What's an impure thought?
-Maybe you wished bad things for someone?
Why would I do that?
-Maybe thoughts about sex?
What do those thoughts look like?

Bless me, for I have sinned. It's been one day since my last confession. These are my sins. I lied to my mom and my dad. I stole... a lot. I coveted. I said bad words. I didn't keep the Lord's day holy. I shouldn't have lied to the policewoman... or pointed the gun at Mike. Um. Let's see. Um...
-What else?
===
Was he a cop?
-No, a thief.
But he's a good guy now?
-Better than most.
Better than most thieves or better than most guys?
-Thieves, but he's a good guy now.
