This book is an absolute delight. Nate is a charming and hilarious narrator (seriously, I was laughing out loud on numerous occasions) and his quest is fun and exciting. It's a fun romp that is also very sweet and had me taking out the sequel as soon as I finished.

This is a great book!

A great read and super fun listen, Tim Federle reads his novel Better Nate Than Ever and brings Nate to life for us in a way no one else could.

It's been a long time since I've read a children's book like this. It made me laugh out loud. On top of being very funny it is also a touching story about one young boy trying to figure out who he is. The book It's a must read!

Join Nate in his epic quest to audition for E.T: The Musical, risking Greyhound station bathrooms and the wrath of his horrible older brother. Underneath the humour (and you will laugh out loud), Nate is struggling to find a place where he fits in-- because he sure doesn't at home or school. The author does an excellent job of reading his own story, and you'll want to read or listen to the sequel, "Five, Six, Seven, Nate".

A laugh-out-loud head-long delight of a read that pleased this former theater kid enormously. The narrator is smart, talented, funny and a survivor of the cruel middle school behavior (if anything is immoral it's the bullying that kids have to endure). And what a great portrait of NYC.

Thirteen-year-old Nate yearns for the bright lights of the theater. What he’s got is small town Pennsylvania where nobody understands his dream. But an open casting call for a Broadway musical just might be his big break . . . if he can make it to the stage on time.
