Pretty bad. I mean, I like geeky stuff as much as the next nerd, but this movie was like what you'd get if you gave two 12-year-olds a big feature budget.
I'll admit that it got more entertaining in the second half... and overall it's mildly entertaining as long as you accept that it will be cheesy, campy, puerile, and stupid. It makes Power Rangers look like serious drama.
For me the most entertaining part was watching the clips of the old '70s show during the closing credits.

Building on US- serials of the 30s-50s, US monster films of the 50s, and comic books, along with the Japanese monster flics, transformer robos, karate schlock, Power Ranger s and more, the film is not a spoof but a deliberate pushing of the envelope by and for those who love that kind of stuff to the cheesiest degree. 2nd half is more fun than the first. Be warned you won't like it if you don't like deliberate schlock.
