It follows three young female rockers going Hollywood in hell-bent sixties style under the spell of a flamboyant producer, whose decadent bashes showcase Meyer's trademark libidinal exuberance. Transgressive and outrageous, this big-studio version of a debaucherous midnight movie is an addictively entertaining romp from one of the movies' great outsider artists.

I remember watching this when I was fifthteen and liked it. But watching it at 30 it was not great. The only good part is the last 10 minutes. Also barely any nudity :(

Russ Meyer's bonkers film about Hollywood and the music scene in the late 60's- co-written by Roger Ebert. It has to be seen to be believed- hilarious stuff.

High on the list of camp classics. And 'camp' most times translates into the word 'bad'. To paraphrase a comment from Roger Ebert (who wrote the screenplay) in the bonus features, this was not an exact snapshot of the late '60s counterculture, this was his and Russ Meyer's interpretation of it. Playboy centerfolds with big hairdos, bigger bosoms, and BAD dialogue... Truly a bizarre experience, and painful at times, (not the Playboy bunnies -- I am a hetero male), but I am glad I stuck it out just once so I don't wonder what I might've missed.

What was I thinking???

This is is awful ! ...when I got this NYPL disc home and put this movie in the DVD player...and the screen says: "NOT FORMATTED FOR THIS REGION" !!?? (Even though it clearly states "Region #1", ie. North America, on the DVD jacket !)
I have watched a thousand other New York Public Library DVDs on my Panasonic Region 1 DVD Player,.. but this one makes it more than TWENTY SEVEN (!) that have come up as "Not Formated for this Region..." etc. !

I really wanted to see this DVD.
And I had to wait for it.
WHY is the New York Public Library still buying DVD's that are "NOT FORMATTED.." to be viewed in this region ?
(Are they 'pirated' editions !!?)

Has this ever happened to anyone else out there ??

one of the WORST movies ever made in history. The writing and acting was so bad it makes "Reality" TV look good. Also, it was so bad they had to make a disclaimer against the campy Valley of the Dolls (made it Oscar worthy compare to this).

A pretty wretched movie, but interesting as a send-up of the times, also a record of what was considered risqué in 1970. Only really interesting thing is that the screenplay is by Roger Ebert. And if you like Russ Meyers's movies, there's that.
