Another good instalment of a well crafted and fast paced story following up with the character of drifter and ex-general Jack Reacher.

Although I would have to agree with MTM's comments below, still, the Jack Reacher character was supposed to be 6'5" and 250 lbs. not a little person like Cruise, which ruins the main character, and then Lee Child, after he sold to Cruise, has altered the character whereby he never mentions his size anymore, which was a main part of this [admittedly cotton candy for the mind] series' character. Cannot read those books anymore . . .

The second Tom-Cruise-as-Jack-Reacher movie begins well but soon hits the quicksand. By the time you get to the Big Easy, about the halfway point, you know what's going to happen. There will be the final mano-a-mano-battle-to-the-death scene (which every veteran viewer of the MISSION:IMPOSSIBLE franchise has seared into his frontal lobe) followed by a Hallmark card epilogue. I couldn't help but ponder that it has been over 35 years since TAPS (1981) and almost 35 years since RISKY BUSINESS (1983). Tom Cruise is getting old but he's still got something. This year's THE MUMMY was savaged by the critics, but it earned three times what it cost to make. And fear not, MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 6 arrives next year.

Well, I am glad I didn't pay to see this. I think Mr. Cruise has limited ability.

I liked this movie, kept my interest and I am glad I checked it out.

It wasn't great but it wasn't awful, either. Formulaic and average.

First movie wasn't great but it's a masterpiece after watching this one.

Loved the first Jack Reacher movie. Hated this one. There's a backstory of Reacher doing favors for Major Turner and flirting with her on phone, then suddenly she's arrested and court-martialed so Reacher comes to the rescue. The actress playing Turner was awful, just awful. Tom Cruise wasn't quite his normal self either. This entire film looked really low budget. :(

I liked the film for what it was. I worry when I see actors or actresses from other franchises playing similar roles in other movies but I didn't look at Cobie Smulders here and keep thinking about Maria Hill. And I thought some of the back and forth between her and Cruise was pretty good! Thankfully whatever romantic embers that may exist don't ignite, doing something different to what most movies these days too easily indulge in.
