Very good.
Seen through the dog's eyes.
Josh Gad is the voice of the dog.
He was the Jewish lawyer, in Marshall,
also, a very good movie.

I dont think they knew the audience they were going for...its too traumatic for those under 10 and not quite adult enough...the actor who voices the dog is terrible...barely any emotion and not a strong voice...yes it pulls at the heartstrings ( especially the first passing) and yes tears flow happily at the end but inbetween its just a bit empty...

I felt so many emotions through this film! You laugh, cry and get heart string pulled!

I'm not some big animal movie lover, although I did like Lassie. This is SO much more than just a dog movie and it really has some good/bad moments, lessons in life, that we may already know but may not value. Real feel good movie.

Very cute movie that is delivered from the dog’s perspective (“I think I’ll keep that boy”). The dog gets reincarnated – into different breeds with different owners over the years and different purposes in life (pet, friend, K9 animal) but at the end of the day it is about loving and enjoying the animal and having it become part of the family. Good for the entire family (no swearing or sex) a little violence (dog bites and pet death) but overall very fun with beautiful dogs, a crazy cat and the horse dog!

This is an okay movie if you like dogs -- also if you don't like dogs, if some onset footage is to be believed (google it). Like Lassie, the dog in A Dog's Purpose brings joy and aid to many humans; unconventionally, he has to die and be reborn many times to do it. There are heartwarming moments, but this film is for adults rather than young children. You may want to avoid it if the thought of your beloved pet dying one day upsets you. Myself, I'm upset that this is the kind of film Lasse Hallstrom is directing now.

Directed by Lasse Hallström in 2017 based on the 2010 novel of the same name by American humorist W. Bruce Cameron, this 100-minute drama delves into the heartwarming relationship between the dog and its owner.
Although it seems like an awkward blend of sugary sentiment and canine suffering that tugs at animal-loving audiences' heartstrings, the film would make you feel profoundly upbeat in the end.
