I did not find this book to be as well written or interesting as the first book. The magical candy was already there, the villain was not as well developed, and not much character development went on with anyone. The plot was simply not as engaging, but it was still a fun read.

Arcade Catastrophe – the sequel to ‘The Candy Shop War’ was by far the better book; five plus stars! To my contemporaries, read and enjoy: a great new book by Chris Bradford, ‘Hostage’(2013) – Bodyguard Series; John Flanagan’s now 12-book Ranger’s Apprentice Series starting with ‘The Ruins of Gorlan’ – amazing!; Christopher Paolini’s 4-book Inheritance Series starting with ‘Eragon’ - simply awesome!; or Brandon Mull’s 5-book Fablehaven Series starting with ‘Fablehaven’ – tremendous!; you will not be disappointed. Doctor-at-Bass! Taylor A.

Awesome book! I think I liked it even more then the first one EXCEPT for the ending. The 1st books ending was AMAZING and unpredictable. This one, not so much. But its still really good!
