The discovery of a treasure trove of her mother's papers leads famed food writer and editor Ruth Reichl to a deeper understanding of her mother who was frustrated by family expectations that led her to stifle her own intellectual interests in the pursuit of a husband and family. It broke my hear to listen to this well-written tale.
