This really isn't a scary story where you want to sleep with the lights on. This story is more about a woman showing psycho tendencies and how those manifest themselves in a possessed house. The one thing that bothered me throughout the story was the way the characters made light of all of the paranormal activity in the house. The very reason they were there was to help Dr. Montague with his research, but they seemed very indifferent to the unusual activity happening during their stay. If you want to be scared, this really isn't the book to get there. If you want to read about strange human behavior, then this might take you there.
