Summary

The book Fire Star by Chris d'Lacey follows David Rain in his adventure to the high Canadian Arctic while writing a new book for Apple Tree Publishing. David begins to write about the fire star, the polar bears and the dragons but after a close encounter he realizes that everything he writes happens to him. Feeling like danger was coming for the Pennykettles, David got a flight back to Scrubbly. Little did he know that his enemy had already been there. Now David must find out the truth about the Pennykettle family and their dragons as well as how he fits into the story. After reading this installment of The Last Dragon Chronicles, I must say that I am a fan of Chris d'lacey. "Fire Star" is the perfect title for this book because it gives a sneak peek as to what the book is about. By the time you get to chapter two, you will feel like you are viewing the story through the characters eyes and are experiencing everything they are. The dragons in the story have so many human-like qualities and personalities that you will end up seeing a bit of yourself in each one of them. The story was filled with moments that will have you holding on to the edge of your seat waiting to find out what happens next, moments when your cheeks hurt from smiling and moments where you just don't know how to react. I think these are all factors of a great story and I can't wait to read the next book in the series.
