The Same Kind of Different As Me has been on my "to read" list for years. I'm not sure why I never made it a priority to get to. It just kept being pushed back by other titles that seemed more exciting at the time. Boy, am I glad that I finally made it to this book! This story will take up shop in your heart, set up shelter, and campout for a long time. It's the kind of book that becomes a part of you. The true story of Ron and Debbie Hall reaching out to a local homeless shelter hit home for me. Reaching out to the lowest of society has always been intimidating and challenging in my mind. But when they finally get plugged in and meet Denver, the whole book takes a turn for the better. I can't believe it took me this long to get to this book. Shame on me. It should have been far sooner. 5/5 book - easily.
