I contend to this day that the Fantastic Mr. Fox film is the greatest film to ever be created. Wes Anderson has directed a masterful rendition of the classic Fantastic Mr. Fox book by Roald Dahl, with multi-generational appeal, charm and poignancy. Visually, this film is stunningly beautiful; story-telling-wise, this film is extraordinarily clever, wry, whimsical, and fanciful. As with many of Wes Anderson’s movies, this piece of art is carefully composed to create a composition never dull, dually heartbreaking and heart-warming. This film can only be described as a contemporary masterpiece, and although it may be breathtaking after a first viewing, it ripens even further with a second – or even a tenth. - @FalcoLombardi of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library 5/5 stars Fantastic Mr. Fox is a 2009 stop-motion comedy film adapted from Rohl Dahl's novel of the same name and directed by Wes Anderson. This is my favorite film of all time. Wes Anderson’s style meshes perfectly both with the stop-motion medium and the comedy imbued throughout the film. Firstly, the movie is visually beautiful. The color palette is pleasing, Wes Anderson’s symmetrical obsession is pleasing, and the stop-motion is used creatively in many places. The film is not only funny and visually appealing but it is also engaging and emotional. Despite the (intentionally) emotionless line delivery in some scenes (for a comedic effect) the characters display emotion through body language, and the story is a heartwarming and blunt coming of age story. Alexander Desplat wrote the music for this movie. He did an excellent job, as the music meshes perfectly with the tone of the movie and is quite a unique style. I cannot stress that YOU MUST SEE THIS FILM before you die, it is that good. @Joaquin of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board
