Maggie Stiefvater's 'The Raven Boys', first book of The Raven Cycle, was well written and overall captivating. Although I found the beginning to progress somewhat artificially, it quickly found it's pace, unfolding an interesting story that raised questions that kept me reading for answers. Using realistic dialogue to portray an endearing array of characters from all walks of life, 'The Raven Boys' relies heavily on relationships. I feel that my biggest issues with the story were all related to the territory that is YA. With that being said, I believe that it is very good for what it is. I'm not sure if I'll continue with the series at this point, but I have a feeling I'll probably be goaded into it.
