Dr Fuhrman’s approach is one of the best out there. It can be difficult at first because it’s such a departure from how most of us eat, but the benefits speak for themselves and motivate you to keep going. Even if you do this program as an omnivore or don’t follow it 100% you’ll still see changes in how you look and feel. Of course he recommends that people at least attempt going fully vegan (while experimenting with different macronutrient ratios to see what works for you) and adhering to the program 100% but that’s because he’s seen the most dramatic changes using that approach. He says numerous times throughout the book that he’d prefer people follow the program while including some animal products if that’s what will keep them on it, so don’t feel like you have to be fully vegan to get the benefits of this diet-style. This lifestyle really works!
