Well, this is Follett so expect an "epic" saga where the grand sweep lacks any subtlety: characters are shallow and one dimensional, lacking deeper understanding of the social mores of the time, writing is somewhat stilted (really awkward when the author has to explain the complex thinking process but ends up with a 6 year-olds world view), and I could really go without truly uncomfortable descriptions of sexual adventures. A bit of mind numbing summer afternoon on the deck kind of a book.
