Although the science is of course impeccable, the objective of the book is not really achieved. This was meant to have been a comparison of the scientific pov with the religious. Unfortunately Dr Carroll's lack of experience or understanding of religion let him down, to the point of setting up straw men such as astrology or miracles in order to dismiss the validity of spiritual matters when considered scientifically.
