This has been my least favorite series from Julie Kagawa (Is it the TALKING dragons? I think it's the talking dragons), but fortunately, this book was a nice improvement over the first two of the Talon series. It doesn't have the dark grittiness of the Blood of Eden series, and it doesn't have the fantastically creepy qualities of the Iron Fey books. It does, however, have dragons (Cool!) that...talk (HUH???) This book is more violent than the first two, the stakes are raised in the conflict between Talon and the Order, the circle surrounding all of the warring entities is tightening, and Ember makes a big decision - all good stuff. Now, if we could just figure out how to silence the dragons in the next book...
