The main reason to watch this wonderful film is for Robin Wright's incredibly powerful and intelligent performance. But director Rebecca Miller defies convention and avoids self-indulgence despite writing and directing a film based on her own novel. Pippa Lee (Wright) is married to an older man in the publishing biz who has suffered from a series of heart attacks. The couple move to an assisted living community where Pippa finds herself enduring a quiet nervous breakdown. Alan Arkin and Julianne Moore are wonderful, and great casting of Keanu Reaves and Winona Ryder serve the film wonderfully.
